Essential to the larger mission of the institution, the DRO advocates for an equitable and inclusive student experience by eliminating disability-related barriers to ensure an equal opportunity to participate in the North Carolina State University experience for students with disabilities.

DRO provides various resources for the campus community. 

  • Provides consultation, guidance, and support to the overall campus community, students, faculty, and staff.
  • Serve as advocates for individuals with disabilities while promoting independence, self-determination, and responsibility. 
  • Deliver training and resources for faculty, staff, and administration around accessibility and inclusion for individuals with disabilities.
  • Determines eligibility for academic adjustments and reasonable accommodations.
  • Assists in identifying appropriate resources, both on and off campus, to support individuals in managing disability related impacts.
