The DRO has provided guidance on continuing to provide accommodations during this transition into an online environment. The Office for Civil Rights (OCR) has created a short webinar on online education and website accessibility. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
The DRO is the designated office to determine accommodations and serves as a resource to assist faculty in their responsibility to providing approved academic accommodations. If you have questions about any accommodation or need clarification on any issue, you are encouraged to email firstname.lastname@example.org so your question can be routed to the correct individual. In addition, the DRO staff is available to schedule an information session on a variety of topics for you or your department upon request. Presentations can be customized to address particular needs or issues as desired.
Accessibility is an NC State responsibility, not just a DRO responsibility. We are your partner in providing an inclusive and accessible educational environment for all students. Our goal is to encourage proactive consideration for the way in which environments are created and how we, as a campus community, think about disability. Better design, even if as simple as a more open attitude, can create better access and more inclusion for everyone.
